CheckUP is a not-for-profit health organisation committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people and communities. Funded by the NDIA, CheckUP in partnership with people with disability, health providers and disability advocacy agencies have developed Access for All – Disability awareness for mainstream health providers (AfA). The online course aims to increase awareness of the barriers people with disability experience when accessing healthcare, and to improve disability awareness across the health sector. Evaluation of AfA revealed a statistically significant improvement in disability awareness among health providers. CheckUP believes education and training on disability awareness will contribute to true inclusion for people with disability, into all parts of society.
